Sewan accelerates its international development with the acquisition of the Belgian operator 3StarsNet

A major European player in telecoms and Cloud services, Sewan simplifies and facilitates corporate communications with a highly differentiating offer and business model. A pioneer in indirect sales in its sector, its solutions are offered to more than 55 000 customers via a network of 850 partners in Europe. The acquisition in 2016 of the Spanish operator Vozelia, which became Sewan Spain a year later, marked a first step in the creation of a physical international network. This external growth continues today with the acquisition of 3StarsNet, a Belgian operator with a reputation in the VoIP and is due to become Sewan Belgium in a few months. The objective of this strategy: to address national markets in an appropriate way and to reinforce its proximity with its partners wherever its solutions are distributed.

"We will be able to rely on 3StarsNet's infrastructure and employees to be operational in Belgium very quickly. We have been seduced by the experience, technical quality and enthusiasm of their teams. This is a very solid base to enable us to deploy our offers and our strategy very quickly", explains Alexis de Goriaïnoff, Chairman of the Sewan Group. We are already working in other European countries, because our technology and business model can make a difference everywhere," he continues.

A solid and competent base to build Sewan Belgium

Technology Specialist VoIP (telephonytrunk, wireless radio link, hosted telephony, numbers, etc.). SVA and Wholesale), 3StarsNet has more than 20 000 customers with a turnover in excess of 6 million euros. Employing 20 employees based in Brussels, this operator, which has made a name for itself on its national market, will very soon become Sewan Belgium.

3StarsNet will thus distribute the entire portfolio of solutions Sewan (fibre optics, hosting, etc.) and will be able to count on a reinforcement of its teams. It will also redirect the company's activity towards indirect sales and white label services, which are the specificity of its model. To this end, it will Sewan expand the network of Belgian resellers and provide them with the tools to manage their activity, such as SOPHIA. This solution makes them perfectly autonomous in terms of productsSewan : online orders, management of their stock, invoicing, etc.

From the first meeting, we noticed that Sewan and 3StarsNet shared experiences and values essential to a rapprochement. Our common ambition with Sewan is to facilitate communications for companies in Belgium. The know-how and experience of our teams combined with the human, technical and financial resources of a large group such as Sewan, will allow us to make the difference in our market", underlines Julien Kutter, CEO of 3StarsNet.

A further step in successful internationalisation

This new anchorage in Europe is fully in line with the vision of Sewan, which considers this territory as one and the same country. Its ambition is thus to offer seamless trans-European services.

And his first move to Spain, in 2016, has already proved that it is possible. This followed the acquisition of Vozelia, a pioneer in hosted telephony for businesses, which a few months later passed under the flag Sewan. The result: a very strong acceleration of its growth.

Applying the business model that has made its success in France, the projected 2019 turnover for Sewan Spain is 5 million euros, compared to 1.9 million at the time of the acquisition. At the same time, its teams have more than doubled from 19 to 50 employees, while more than 100 new white label distribution partners have been recruited in Spain.

Sewan intends to set the same dynamic in motion in its new Belgian subsidiary, before looking a little further east or south, in search of a new opportunity.
